They are designed from the ground up to ensure excellent electrical and mechanical specifications for Fiber To The Home (FTTH) applications while at the same time offering easy and reliable installation. As consumer demand for more advanced services and higher data rates increase along with the expectation of reliable service delivery, the need to bring fiber closer to the end user is essential. One architecture that addresses these needs is RF over Glass (RFoG) which uses an all-fiber delivery medium from the headend to the residential, rural or commercial customer. One advantage RFoG has is its compatibility with existing headend and customer premise equipment. At the customer premise, the fiber mini node output feeds the existing coax distribution network while the return transmitter sends the upstream signals to the headend for processing on demand.
The RFoG fiber node can also be configured to integrate high data rate PON services to customers while maintaining a separate tier of RF-based services.
